I was first introduced to Pilates in 2004 by a friend of mine. She was a horseback rider who had begun studying Pilates on the recommendation of her trainer. I remember her telling me about her Pilates sessions on the Reformer, a key piece of equipment in the Pilates system, and how much it was helping with her riding. I soon began to see an incredible transformation in her body, her posture and the way she moved. I was fascinated and decided to give it a try. Despite my many years of dance training Pilates began to bring some new and amazing benefits to me. I felt stronger and more flexible. There was a huge improvement in my posture. I seemed to be moving in a better way and realized that some chronic neck and low back pain, which I had for years, was just about gone! Of course, I looked better too! My arms, legs and tummy muscles were leaner, toned and more defined.

In 2013, I decided to share my love of Pilates and belief in the method with others. I enrolled in the Teacher Training Program through The Pilates Center (TPC) in Boulder, CO. I did my training at InsideOut Body Therapies in Durham, one of TPC’s certified studios and one of the premier Pilates studios in the area. At InsideOut, I trained under the guidance of Master Pilates instructors as well as Pilates trained Physical Therapists. I’ve had intensive training in Classical Pilates and I’m certified to teach Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels. I am also a member of the Pilates Method Alliance.

I have a degree in Chemical Engineering from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn NY and recently left IBM after having a successful career that spanned engineering, management, marketing and business development. In addition to Pilates, I love to cook, walk and hike, travel to new places near or far, knitting and jewelry design. My most precious times are spent with my family, friends and of course, my wonderful clients
